Hi! My name is Peanut.

One hot summer day in 2017, as staff was entering the shelter, they noticed a sealed plastic container sitting right out front. Inside, were my siblings, my mom, and me. I was at the very bottom of the pile, and as a result, I suffered some brain damage.

Shortly after finding me, I was adopted by my mom, Lisa Oakes, who is the Executive Director of the shelter! After lots of love and care, my condition improved, though, I still have some repetitive behaviors as a result of lack of oxygen. Sometimes, my mom carries me around in a sling, so I can check everything out! Maybe I will see you at the shelter, or at an event!

I may be a little bit different than other kitties, but this is what makes me so special! As a result of my own perseverance, and the kindness and patience that I was shown, I grew into my own unique self!
