Interested in adopting a cat from the Humane Society Waterville Area? Learn how to apply below.
Adopt a Cat
Cat walk-up adoptions are available during normal business hours which can be viewed here. We allow one family per adoption room at a time.
Please note that filling out an application for an animal does not guarantee your adoption. We match animals with adopters on a first come, first considered basis. Unfortunately, we cannot hold animals longer because they deserve every chance to be in a loving home as soon as possible. Once you have applied, we will consider your application, check references (if applicable), confirm housing and let you know if you have been accepted. You can either pay the adoption fee over the phone or come in the next day to pay and complete the adoption.
How To Apply
Adoption applications can be filled out and delivered in person to the shelter during normal business hours. No appointment needed. We no longer accept adoption applications submitted electronically.
Cat adoption fees, which include initial kitten vaccines, tests for FIV and FeLV (for cats over 6 months), treatment for internal parasites, flea treatment, spay/neuter surgery, and a rabies vaccine for kittens over 3 months old, are as follows:
|Kittens (8 weeks – 1 year)||$150|
|Cats (1 year – 5 years)||$75|
|Cats (5+ years – 8 years)||$50|
|Senior Cats (8+ years and up)||Fee Waived|
* If you are a senior, veteran or first responder you get 25% off any animal/fee unless it is a special deal.
