Little baby Luna. We adopted her today and have learned she is a talkative love bug who is very curious and wants to get into and play with everything ☺️ She has done really well with adjusting to her new furry siblings and she appears to be loving her first day home. She has been purring up a storm all day today 🥰
We adopted these guys last week. We're obsessed with them. Apparently the feeling is mutual. 💕
That's wonderful!!enjoy your new friend
We got bigelow (now Oshi) from you 3 weeks ago. He is doing so well and getting big so fast!!! He is very responsive to his training and has settled in really well!
Barn Cats! 🐱
We have many feral cats who are ready to get to work in your barn. Barn cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks and microchipped just like the rest of the cats in our care.
Barn cats are fee waived and available in pairs. Please fill out an application on our website and call us to make an appointment or visit during Cats in the Community Room on Fridays and Saturdays from 12-3.
So I haven't had barn cats before.. What do I need..what do I do..what do I need for them?.. Are they completely feral? Do I feed them? Can I pet them? Thanks for your help!
What exactly makes them barn cats? You couldn’t have these cats as pets inside?
Rough having a barn cat inside.
Tammy, Amy and Amanda, barn cats are typically ferral, having had little to no human interaction. Barn cats at shelters are usually rescues taken from cat colonies where breeding, kittens, disease and malnutrition are widespread. Trying to domestic these adult cats is near impossible. (Kittens are often able to be domesticated though some will always be stand-offish.) I adopted 2 barn cats from a rescue and it took 2 years for one of them to let me get within a few feet of him. The other one never did. These cats need the security of a barn or outbuilding to get in from extreme weather and someone to provide consistent food and water so they can live out their years as stress free as possible.
We have many adult cats and a few kittens ready to find their families this afternoon. Join us from 12-3 in our Community Room for adoptions. Adoption fees will be 50% off for all cats ages 1+. Please visit our website to view our available cats and submit an application prior to your visit.
Do you have gently used towels laying around? Our furry friends can use them! Donations can be dropped off by our main entrance between 9 and 4 daily. Thank you!
